A Short Rest by Amber Alexander in Vermont.
I always find it fascinating when artists are able to make the brushstrokes disappear. Alexander has managed to do just that here and the result leaves this gold finch feeling real, warm and fuzzy.
I also appreciate that she decided to leave out the branches and stems. It may have distracted from the softness of the bird and plants.
Although the original of this painting has already sold you can purchase prints for a fraction of the cost in Alexander’s Etsy shop.
