The Red Canoe by Winslow Homer circa 1889.
Homer, who is known for his watercolor, wood engraving, oil, etching, and many other various forms of art, was a New Englander who – after serving as a lithographer for a short time – made his career as a freelance artist. Something that all artists wish they could do.
The thing I love most about this work is that it seems approachable. I feel as though I could one day accomplish it myself. Dig that reflection.
