The strokes are what matter. The woman’s shirt is but a few well-placed strokes of varying colors, pressures, and intensity.
It is something I’ve yet to master. Unlearning the color-in-the-lines techniques taught to me from childhood. To allow the paper to speak for itself and to simply show the viewer where things exists. That’s the challenge. That’s the beauty.
